The Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG) Cell at Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University works towards creating equal opportunities for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds by providing them with the necessary academic, financial, and social support.
Objectives of the SEDG Cell:
- To identify and support students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds by providing financial aid, scholarships, and mentorship.
- To promote an inclusive academic environment where all students have equal access to resources and opportunities.
- To raise awareness about the challenges faced by socio-economically disadvantaged students and provide effective solutions.
- To facilitate personal, academic, and career development for students from underprivileged backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing scholarships, stipends, and fee waivers to students from economically weaker sections.
- Offering mentorship, academic guidance, and career counseling to help students succeed.
- Organizing workshops and sensitization programs on socio-economic disparity and its challenges.
- Ensuring students from disadvantaged backgrounds have equal access to academic resources, hostels, and extracurricular activities.
