The details of seats are as follows :

• 40% seats are reserved for candidates who are permanent residents of the State of Uttarakhand. if these reserved seats remain vacant, then the said vacant seats shall be filled by non-resident candidates of Uttarakhand.
• For the reserved seats as mentioned in sub-clause (1) above, the University shall comply with the State Government reservation policy as amended/applicable from time to time.
• 25% rebate in the tuition fees only shall be given to the candidates, who are admitted under permanent resident category as mentioned in sub-clause (1) above.

Qualification And Minimum Marks

1. 1. Candidate passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination recognized by any Board with pass marks (50% marks) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics.

2. 2. Candidates who have passed the Senior Secondary School Examination of National Open School with a minimum of 5 subjects with any of the following group subjects with pass marks of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics.

3. 3. a. English, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology
   b. English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics and any other language.

4. 4. Candidate must attain the age of 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.

5. 5. Candidate has to furnish, at the time of submission of the application form, a certificate of physical fitness from a registered medical practitioner and two references from persons other than relatives, testifying to satisfactory general character.

6. 6. Lateral Entry to candidates in the second year (3rd semester) who have passed Diploma in Optometry / Ophthalmic Assistant.
