The Department of Pharmacy, KCSIP i.e. Keshri Chand Subharti Institute of Pharmacy was established in the year 2006 with a vision of promotion of excellence in Pharma Education and to provide opportunities for pharmaceutical research in the Uttarakhand region so that young men and women meet the challenges in the area of pharmaceutical industries, education, research and development and marketing.

The College is affiliated to Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, Dehradun and approved by Pharmacy Council of India New Delhi and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Ministry of HRD, New Delhi.

The institute aim is to train the students, armed with the ability to work effectively and efficiently, across professional boundaries, so that they can emerge as leaders and innovators in their chosen professions.

About the department

KCSIP (Pharmacy) is located in a serene environment, in the picturesque location of the lower Himalayas with a salubrious climate. It is about 10 Km from Clock Tower popularly called Ghantaghar; the institution has sprawling campus which is spread over more than 2.5 acres. The institution is in a very convenient place and approachable by any transportation means at economical rate.

KCSIP has a beautiful campus and modern infrastructure nestling in the peaceful and lush environs of hills covered with evergreen forests. The institute offers students the best of residential and day boarding facilities along with research, library, Wi-Fi covering entire campus and sports amenities. Highly qualified faculty, trained staff, including those of security and medical facilities are our real strength.

Aim

Our aim is to spearhead research and innovation in emerging areas of Pharmacy and to create an enabling environment to train innovative, capable and highly motivated intellectual manpower to meet India’s needs in close partnership with the Pharmaceutical industry.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Eligibility Criteria for D. Pharma (2 years full time course)

  • 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects: Mathematics / Biology
  • Obtained minimum 45% (40% in case of reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
ABOUT D.PHARMA COURSE:-

The D.Pharm course is of two years duration. Students completing this degree course are eligible to register as pharmacist and practise the profession throughout India as per the rules and regulations of Pharmacy Council of India.

Admission Procedure

All seats are filled through Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, Dehradun. Out of the total intake, 25% seats are reserved for students under Uttarakhand State quota and 75% seats are open to students from all over India under all India quota.

KCSIP Placement:-

KCSIP has set up placement and career guidance cell under the supervision of experienced pharmacy professionals viz. production, marketing and research. The placement cell of KCSIP facilitates placement of students in premier public and private sector organizations. The cell takes care of student’s placement at various organizations for their practical programs, co-ordinates interviews for higher job profiles and prospects.

Campus Placement:-
  • The potential employers are shortlisted on the basis of students discipline, their interests and market research. They are then contacted and invited to the campus in accordance with our accepted policy and priorities. It fulfils dual purposes, one for students securing their future career and industry securing the best fresh talent available in the region.
Expert Lectures:-
  • Career Services Department or the Domain Department organizes expert lecture series in coordination with student organizations for enhancing current industry knowledge. Such lectures also help in familiarizing the students and the faculty with the industry practices and their correlation with the textbook material.
Industrial Training for the Students:-
  • Training is the integral part of the study to acknowledge the students for real world problems. Students are placed in various industries for 6 to 8 weeks, under the supervision and guidance of an industry professional. The faculty carries out monitoring and evaluation regularly.
Industrial Visit – Study Tour:-
  • In each semester, industry visits of the students are organized to the relevant industries in various locations. It serves the objective of exposure to large-scale practical applications of theoretical aspects.
Student Projects:-
  • Students prepare the projects reflecting the needs and problems of the industry. The faculty interacts on a regular basis with industry personnel for successful implementation of such projects.
Career Orientation Program:-
  • Various other programmes to orient students about industry expectations are organized. Additional seminars are undertaken by the students in each semester to improve learning in the areas like Literature Survey, Personality Development, Group Discussion and Presentation Skills. Moreover, opportunities of Technologies for communication skills enhancement are provided.
